Music and Worship Ministries

Making a joyful noise to the Lord in worship!

At TMC, music is not to be a performance, but is an offering to the Lord in worship and leadership with the congregation. We have a couple different opportunities to get connected!

Sanctuary Choir

Love singing in choirs? This is for you! The Sanctuary Choir leads musical worship in our Traditional 11AM service on Sunday mornings with hymns and special anthems each week. The choir also does an annual Christmas cantata or musical special, with rehearsals generally beginning in the mid-summer. Music reading ability is always a plus, but definitely not required!

The choir rehearses weekly on Wednesdays at 7:00PM and at 10:45AM on Sunday mornings in the choir room. Contact Regina Noland for more information.

The Grove Praise Band

The Grove Praise Band is for vocalists or instrumentalists who are comfortable singing with microphones and being in a small ensemble. You must be able to harmonize when needed and to follow the direction of the worship leader, leading the congregation in worship to the Lord.

The band currently rehearses on Sunday mornings at 8AM before service at 9AM. Contact Hayden Sexton for more information.

Audio/Visual Teams

Want to serve in worship services, but prefer to be in the background? We are currently looking for more regular volunteers in both our contemporary and traditional services. This team runs our sound booth, which controls both the overall sound for the worship spaces and for our livestream.

The Grove teams consists of sound, manning the livestream through a platform, and running slides. We prefer to have two people in the booth each week.
The Traditional team consists of manning the sound booth, playing tracks for the choir when needed, and special events. We usually just need one person for this service.
Prior experience with basic A/V skills is always a plus, but not required. Contact Regina Noland or Hayden Sexton for more information.

Worship Servers

Have other gifts that you’d love to use in worship service? Consider connecting in these ways:

Hospitality/Usher - this team (usually pairs) will greet and hand out bulletins before worship service, and assist any first time worshippers in finding a seat, restrooms, or other information. Ushers will assist in passing the offering plates in the middle of worship (11AM only).

Communion Server - the pastors always need one other person to assist them in serving Holy Communion each Sunday. The server will stand up at the front with the pastor and serve the congregation. Further training or instruction is available.

Have other gifts or skills we haven’t mentioned? Talk to Pastor Taylor, and he’d be happy to hear where you’d like to serve the church in worship and work with you to make it happen!
