Who we are…

Taylorville Methodist Church (TMC) is a faithful, budding Global Methodist community that's built around the life-changing power of Jesus Christ and the hope that's found in Him. We believe in worshipping and growing together, in supporting each other through prayer, and in showing and telling people about God's love for them.

where we come from…

The current incarnation of TMC began in 1905 when a few families and a traveling pastor -- called a circuit rider -- decided that the area needed a church to proclaim the Good News of God's grace to the people.

In 1925, we went from being a society to having a church building, which has been added onto throughout the years.
We have ebbed and flowed through the years, and have gone through various iterations of Methodism, following many teachings from John Wesley. We joined the Global Methodist Church in 2023 - you can find out more about that on our About Us page. Over the past 100 years, our mission remains the same: to worship; to grow in faith in Jesus; and to make disciples!

where we’re going…

Why do we exist? Simply, to create and equip disciples of Jesus Christ through the power of the Holy Spirit. We want people to do more than hear that God loves them -- we want them to experience the transformation that comes through a life of faith. We are a people powered by PRAYER. Anything and everything we do at TMC is covered in prayer. It’s not just about another program or event, it’s about worship, fellowship, and being the hands and feet of Jesus to our community.
And we want this to include YOU! Whether you grew up in church or are still trying to figure out who this Jesus is, whatever your background, whatever you’ve been through or done, you’re more than invited - you’re wanted.
